The short answer

What home security camera installation includes

We walk the outside of the house with you and mark where each one goes, then run one cable to each for power and video. Everything records to a recorder inside your house, and you watch live or play back from your phone. They are often the first step of a full home security system installation with alarm sensors added later.

  • Turret, dome and PTZ cameras
  • Night vision
  • One cable per camera
  • Recording in your house
  • Live view on your phone
Included in every install
  1. 01A walk around the house to plan every angle
  2. 02Hardwired outdoor and indoor cameras with night vision
  3. 03Cable hidden as neatly as the house allows, in conduit outside
  4. 04A recorder in the house, so the video stays yours
  5. 05Phone app setup for everyone in the family
  6. 06A walkthrough: watch live, scroll back and save a clip

Outdoor cameras for doors, driveways and yards

Most break-ins and package thefts start at the front door, the back door or the driveway, so that is where they go first. Mounting under the eave keeps them out of reach and out of the rain. Night vision covers the hours that matter most. At the front door itself, a video doorbell installation adds two-way talk.

  • Mounted high and out of reach
  • Night vision on every outdoor unit
  • Angles planned to catch faces and plates

Wired, not wireless

Battery models die, and Wi-Fi ones drop out when the network is busy. A wired unit gets power and video on one cable, so it records all day, every day. We hide the cable inside where we can and run it in conduit outside, like this one on a brick wall. Want sensors and a siren too? See home security system installation.

  • No batteries to charge
  • No Wi-Fi dropouts
  • Cable hidden or in conduit

Home security camera questions

Still have a question? Call 929-299-8400.

How much does it cost to install a home security camera system?

It depends on the number of cameras, the type, how many days of video you want to keep and how far the cable runs. iGTD gives you a free on-site estimate and a written price before any work starts.

Are wired or wireless cameras better?

Wired. A wired one gets power and video on one cable, so there are no batteries to charge and no Wi-Fi dropouts. iGTD installs wired systems only.

Do you need a license to install security cameras in NY?

New York State licenses installers through the Department of State. iGTD Technology is a NY State licensed security installer.

Do I need a monthly subscription for my cameras?

No. The video records to a recorder in your house and you watch it from the app without a required monthly contract.

Can I watch my home cameras from my phone?

Yes. You can watch live, scroll back and save clips from the app, wherever you are.

Do you fix cameras another company installed?

Yes. iGTD repairs and upgrades these systems, including ones other installers put in.
